These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the EhVision website and ClearPlate service (collectively, the "Services"), operated by EhVision Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("EhVision", "we", "us", "our").
By accessing or using our Services, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.
EhVision provides software products designed to give individuals and organisations clearer visibility of information held by UK public authorities. Our current product, ClearPlate, allows users to query outstanding and recent vehicle penalties, including parking contraventions, penalty charge notices, bus lane infractions, and yellow box violations, by entering a vehicle registration mark (VRM).
ClearPlate retrieves information from official UK government and local authority data sources. We present this information as a convenience. We do not generate, adjudicate, or administer penalties. Any action taken in response to results is solely your responsibility.
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice.
You may use our Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for any user who breaches these requirements, with or without notice.
ClearPlate retrieves information directly from official data sources. While we work to ensure reliable connectivity, we cannot guarantee that the information returned is complete, up to date, or free from error at any given time. Data held by third-party authorities may be subject to processing delays, system outages, or human error beyond our control.
Results provided by ClearPlate are for informational purposes only. They do not constitute legal advice. Before taking any action — including paying, appealing, or contesting a penalty — you should verify the information independently with the relevant issuing authority.
Where the Services require you to create an account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use or suspected breach of security.
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that are found to be in breach of these Terms, used fraudulently, or inactive for an extended period.
All content, software, design, trademarks, and other materials forming part of the EhVision website and Services are owned by or licensed to EhVision Ltd and are protected by applicable intellectual property law. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, licence, or interest in that material beyond the limited right to use the Services in accordance with these Terms.
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Services without our prior written consent.
To the fullest extent permitted by English law, EhVision Ltd shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Services, including but not limited to loss of revenue, loss of data, or failure to meet deadlines.
Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the Services shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or services, including official UK government portals. These links are provided for convenience only. EhVision has no control over, and accepts no responsibility for, the content, privacy practices, or availability of any third-party site. Your use of any linked site is governed by that site's own terms and policies.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Services, applicable law, or our business. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email or prominent notice on the platform. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Services after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
